Hello Earthlings!
Welcome to 2023 from your favourite writer who you are reading the newsletter of right now! (and if you’re also reading another writer’s newsletter and you prefer them… that’s impressive, and I’ll accept second place.)
I did not send out a newsletter last month because, well, November was not my best writing month. And then neither was December.

So, my 3rd book will not be going out to beta readers right now. Still, I’ve made some fantastic progress on it. I’ve rewritten the opening, and I think it’s fantastic—really captures the world and character well. And it sets up everything you need to know going into the murder mystery. I may be a little behind on my goal of writing a book a year now, but that’s OK. Going into 2023, I’m still in a really good place. I’ve got two books I really love and believe in and both should be ready to query before the end of the year.
What Have I Been Up To?
Well, I did make one mistake…

I’ve been obsessed with baking bao.

I did research at Casa Loma, getting good sensory details and a better feel for the layout.

I celebrated Christmas

The holidays are always a difficult time for me, but I’m through the other side of them now, and it’s time to buckle down and get work done. And I’m ready to do that.
I hope 2023 brings you all joy, happiness, and progress toward your goals, too!
See you all next month!
